Now Lizzie you're not trying to upstage me here are YOU ? With my colleagues in the Met I have been co-ordinating the training for Appropriate Adults, and Lylie is next on the list. You see as we are having to look after a bunch of vulnerable adults and you will have to be thoroughly checked over by my colleagues - a full criminal record check for you my dear

Oh do keep up Barbara. Lizzie wants to be the IN appropriate Adult. As far as I know that post is not filled.

Yes, but knowing you, your tassels will get caught on one of the hands and you will be suspended by a boob from Big Ben. Not a pretty sight!

Damn! I had so much vodka over Christmas I completely forgot about the New Year bash, and I was soooooo looking forward to the warmth and the guys keeping us cool. I'll have to have a drink now, to drown my sorrows......

I'll do a bungee down BB with you Mary, perhaps we can arrange some clever trick with our coloured crutches??!
I was thinking of a cat suit or something very tight which won't catch on anything? Or just a bikini.
I could be the IN appropriate adult too couldn't I? Or Doreen...........................

Well, in my humble opinion, we`re all adults - who cares whether or not we`re appropriate? I`m almost fully recovered from the Hogmanay bash, but it was a bit unkind of you all to go off and leave me to hunt for the snake all by myself. I had nothing to do with those who ended up in prison - you all brought it on yourselves. And none of you gave a thought to the haggi, except Jenni - the haggi thought the harp music quite soothing. I`m up for Eleanor`s retirement party on the Thames, but I think I`d prefer to water-ski rather than bungee-jump. I`ll just make sure my wet-suit is nicely embellished. Kathleen x

Doreen, I can't help being slow on the uptake.... do I still get to go to Eleanor's do, and have I been sacked ? Kathleen the"Appropriate Adult" is someone who advocates for the rights of vulnerable people when they end up in the Knick - given this lots history, I think we're are going to need one. Heaven knows what they'll get up to in London. Love, Barbara XXXXXX

You'll not be coming at all if you don't remember that I wish my retirement party to be a sedate and quiet affair. Now who suggested bungee jumping and canoes! We'll be on the City Cruiser sailing elegantly up the Thames..
Who am I kidding, I'll be snow boarding if this weather continues. Barbara, of course you are coming. You may have to be an in-appropriate adult for once though. (maybe for twice after the last do)

If Eleanor`s really determined to have a "quiet and sedate" party, maybe we ought to enrol for some lessons in how to be quiet and sedate? We wouldn`t want to spoil anything, and you know how boisterous Jean and Doreen can be.................... Kathleen x

Why would you want to do that? Couldn`t you just wear a hat like normal people??

Tell you what Doreen, you bring your book, and I`ll bring a bag of sugar - that should be refined enough for both of us, and of course, will make us both extra-sweet!
